(formerly known as Rehabilitation Institute of Santa Barbara) has been recognized for excellence, innovation and excellent outcomes of care.
The facility on De la Vina Street is now under the license and is a part of Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. CRH is accredited by CARF -- Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities -- in Comprehensive Integrated Rehabilitation and Stroke Specialty Programs. CRH is also accredited by the Joint Commission as a program of Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
The rehabilitation team employs a transdisciplinary approach to the rehabilitation process to address the medical, physical, cognitive, neuropsychological and family needs of the patient. Working together physicians, therapists and nurses develop individualized courses of treatment to help each patient set and reach practical, patient-focused goals.
In addition, families and caregivers are supported through Coast Caregivers Resource Center, a program serving those who care for adults affected by chronic cognitive disorders.
Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital's full range of services include:
The Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital features the Tuohy Foundation Aquatic Center which offers an important adjunct or substitution to land-based therapy treatments. The resistive properties of water can provide muscular challenge for improving strength and endurance. CRH offers a variety of aquatic therapy classes and programs for patients as well as community members.
Through its Keck Center for Outpatient Services, CRH offers adapted driving services including a pre-driving evaluation, behind-the-wheel evaluation, driver training and evaluation and training on adaptive equipment. The services are for any patient or community member whose physical or cognitive disability has the potential to impair driving ability.
