Hospital Foundation
The Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital. The Foundation’s activities are exclusively devoted to generating and channeling financial support for the benefit of the hospital. In 2004, the Foundation completed its first Endowment Campaign raising in excess of $8 million. This success set the stage for the launching of a $7 million capital campaign to help fund the $12 million building project in the Valley (the additional $5 million in project costs are being provided by Cottage Health System). The campaign achieved its goal in December 2008.
Each year the Foundation conducts an annual year-end appeal and sponsors a very popular health fair every October, which reaches out to all Valley residents.
Special Philanthropic Initiatives
In addition to its ongoing focus on Unrestricted Gifts that can support essential hospital services, and contributions to the Endowment Fund to assure the hospital’s future financial health, the Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital Foundation is seeking support for three important programs:
The Breast Care Initiative addresses a critical healthcare need of Valley residents -- access top high quality breast care and breast disease detection and treatment services. The initiative helps the hospital purchase state-of-the-art digital mammography equipment in the hospital's new Imaging Department, which opened in March 2011.
The Santa Barbara-based Wood-Claeyssens Foundation has provided a challenge grant of $250,000 toward the $500,000 goal for the digital mammography program. The community has responded with gifts and grants totaling more than $200,000 toward this goal. Your gift to the Pink Ribbon Campaign can be doubled through the Wood-Claeyssens grant, and can help us raise the remaining $50,000 needed to fully match the challenge grant by June 2011.
The Healing Arts Program at the Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital will assure that as the hospital opens its new patient care wing and continues with retrofitting and modernizing older portions of its facility, patients, family, staff, and visitors will be surrounded by attractive artwork - selected to enhance a serene healing environment and that reflects the beauty and grace of the Santa Ynez Valley.
