Translation And Interpreting Services
Interpreters of Spanish and other languages are available to assist patients and family members in conversing safely and effectively with physicians, nurses, social workers and other staff. All three CHS hospitals offer Language Line (telephone) interpreter services, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please ask your nurse for help accessing these services.
For the hearing-impaired, the nearby Independent Living Resource Center (ILRC), as well as some of our own staff, are on call at all three hospitals. Please ask your nurse or call x2121 at SBCH to make these arrangements. In the unlikely event that our in-house services are unable to respond quickly to your request, the ILRC may be contacted directly at 963-0595/TDD.
