Pediatric Hematology / Oncology

There are few diagnoses that produce the level of anxiety in a parent that cancer does. That’s why you want a team of specialists who focus solely on pediatric cancer care. CCH’s pediatric hematology-oncology program treats newly diagnosed and continuing patients with cancer or blood disorders.

CCH is part of the non-profit Children’s Oncology Group (http://www.childrensoncologygroup.org), a prestigious international organization whose members work collaboratively on developing new treatments and cures for cancer in infants, children, and adolescents.

Pediatric Hematology / Oncology physicians practicing in the Grotenhuis Pediatric Multispeciality Clinic include Dr. Daniel Greenfield and Dr. David Slomiany.

Every child challenged by illness is a hero.
At Cottage Children's Hospital, we care for young heroes everyday.

The first year of a baby's life brings milestones almost every day. First smile. First laugh. First steps. First hospital visit just isn't in a parent's vocabulary. It certainly wasn't for the parents of Zoe. When Zoe was just three months old she was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia.

Cottage Children's Hospital cared for Zoe through six months of treatment, all the way to remission. But then Zoe's parents received a second blow: Zoe had developed a heart condition. Although it was treatable, Zoe and her parents had been through a trying six months. But they found comfort - and hope - with CCH. Just weeks later, Zoe was well again.
