Trauma Services Nurse Practitioners

 

SBCH Trauma Services Nurse Practitioners are nurses with advance practice degrees which allow them to assess, treat and diagnosis a wide variety medical conditions. They work closely with the trauma attending physicians and team to develop a treatment and discharge plan for trauma patients.

 

Principle responsibilities include:

  • Daily rounds on trauma floor patients
  • Ordering and interpreting vital signs, laboratory and radiology tests
  • Coordinating therapy services (physical, occupational, speech)
  • Addressing concerns and answering questions of patients and families
  • Providing outpatient follow up at trauma clinic
  • Facilitating discharge plans and follow up care
  • Developing policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes
  • Participation in community outreach program

The trauma nurse practitioners are an integral part of trauma services and are available to assist our trauma patients with various aspects of their care and recovery.
