“A really good day"

“A really good day” is how Marisa Beuoy describes May 6, 2011, the day she and husband Chad brought Bradley home from Cottage Children’s Hospital after three months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Bradley’s delivery by Caesarian-section at 26 weeks gestation was necessary because of complications that Marisa experienced during her pregnancy.

Weighing slightly less than 2 pounds, Bradley’s lungs were not fully developed and he needed a ventilator to help him breathe.

Fortunately, Bradley made steady progress over the next three months and weighed in at a healthy 6 pounds on the day his parents took him home.

Marisa and Chad took turns staying with Bradley and continue to feel a profound sense of gratitude toward the nurses, doctors, therapists and other caregivers at Cottage Children’s Hospital with whom they interacted.

“It was amazing to see how much they genuinely cared,” said Chad.
