This program is aimed at adapting to and understanding the rapidly changing environment in Critical Care. This class will enable the clinician to apply the concepts at the bedside to improve patient outcomes. Sacred Cows will be exposed.

  

Course Objectives:

  • Describe methods needed to participate and design the necessary cultural changes required in a unit to meet the goals of patient safety while creating a fun, empowered and healthy work environment
  • Describe methods to implement evidence based nursing care strategies to reduce error and improve patient outcomes by assuming ownership of basic nursing care activities
  • Recognize care of the critically ill patient’s skin belongs to the nurse and are accountable for the outcomes
