Los síntomas de enfermedad periodontal incluyen:
  • Encías rojas, inflamadas, hinchadas
  • Tendencia de sangrado en las encías, particularmente al cepillarse y limpiarse con hilo los dientes
  • Encías sensibles y adoloridas
  • Sensibilidad de los dientes a temperaturas extremas
  • Mal aliento persistente (halitosis)
  • Dolor al masticar
  • Dientes flojos
  • Línea de la encía encogida y hundida
  • Bolsas o espacios enmedio de los dientes y las encías
  • Abscesos, o bolsas de infección
  • Pus que rezuma de las encías o entre los dientes
