Tratamientos para la Enfermedad Drepanocítica

No existen tratamientos para curar la enfermedad drepanocítica. En vez de ello, el tratamiento pretende controlar los varios síntomas en un esfuerzo por minimizar las complicaciones. Los objetivos del tratamiento incluyen:
  • Controlar los episodios de crisis aguda
  • Controlar el dolor crónico
  • Controlar la anemia
  • Prevenir y tratar las infecciones
  • Controlar las complicaciones y el daño a los órganos
