Con frecuencia, la escoliosis se diagnostica durante una examinación de rutina para niños sanos. Un niño con escoliosis podría no tener síntomas aún. Grados más severos de curvatura podrían causar síntomas notorios, como:
  • Omóplatos disparejos
  • Huesos de la cadera disparejos
  • Omóplatos o costillas de un costado prominentes
  • Cintura dispareja
  • Apariencia de inclinación en un costado
  • Dolor en la espalda
  • Fatiga muscular después de estar sentado por mucho tiempo
