Santa Ynez Valley Hospital Foundation Launches Campaign To Rebuild Hospital(April 2006)
The Santa Ynez Valley Hospital Foundation Board of Directors announced the beginning of a three-year, $10 million building project for Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital, and has named four members to serve as campaign chairs. Ken Mills, a past member of both the Hospital and Foundation boards, will serve as honorary chair. Tresha Sell, Foundation President, and Charles Chester, Foundation Vice President, will act as campaign co-chairs. Jim Lindsey, also a current Foundation board member, will be a special advisor to the campaign co-chairs. The greatly improved hospital facility is being designed with new, expanded, and retrofi tted spaces in order to create a hospital that is compliant with seismic standards and tailored to the current and future healthcare needs of the Valley. Plans for the expanded and renovated SYVCH include an additional 10,000 sq. ft. dedicated to patient care, including: The project also includes a new entry vestibule, lobby, ambulance driveway, patient admitting and registration area, and a new emergency generator. A $5 million fundraising campaign was launched with a $1 million leadership gift from the SYV Hospital Foundation; the remaining $4 million will be raised from Valley residents. CHS has committed an additional $5 million to complete the $10 million project. No local, state, or federal funds are available for the rebuilding. |
