NEW MANAGER OF ANNUAL GIVING,
MAJOR GIFTS OFFICER JOIN CHS

Welcome to Audrie Krause and Pat Heller

October 2006

Audrie Krause has been named Manager of Annual Giving at Cottage Health System. She is overseeing two of Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital’s largest fundraising special events -- the Tiara Ball and the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon. In addition, she manages the Cottage Associates Membership Program and the Annual Fund Appeal.

Most recently, Ms. Krause worked as a media and policy consultant with Woodward & McDowell in Burlingame for which she oversaw a number of public education campaigns for corporate clients. She formerly served as executive director of Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County and earlier worked as executive director of TURN (Toward Utility Rate Normalization) in San Francisco. She began her career as a reporter for ten years with the Fresno Bee.

Ms. Krause received her BA in journalism from California State University, Fresno and conducted graduate study in Mass Communications at the University of Minnesota.She currently serves on the boards of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund of Santa Barbara, Ventura, San Luis Obispo and the Santa Barbara Women’s Political Committee. 

 

Patricia “Pat” Heller has joined Cottage as a Major Gifts Officer. Her primary responsibility is working with the Physician Task Force of The Campaign for Cottage Health System. Made up of retired and active physicians, the committee is the lead group in securing support from their colleagues for the $100 million fundraising campaign to build the new Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The campaign recently passed the halfway benchmark with donations and pledges.

Ms. Heller also is overseeing the Cottage Founders Society made up of individual, corporate and foundation major gift donors to the campaign.

Most recently, Ms. Heller served as Director of Development for the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum and as Major Gifts Officer at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).Earlier in her career, she owned Heller Vanek Design, a design and giftware business with national distribution and spent several years in the newspaper and public relations fields.

Ms. Heller received her BA in journalism from San Jose State University and her MBA from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis. She also completed the Certified Fund Raising certificate program at UCLA. She currently volunteers for Reading for the Blind and Dyslexic and DAWG, both in Santa Barbara.
