New MRI Service In The Valley

Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital (SYVCH) is expanding its magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology services. MRIs provide very detailed images of organs, tissues, and structures inside the body and are an important diagnostic tool.

Moving from a contracted, mobile MRI service available twice a week, SYVCH will have a permanent MRI unit open Monday through Friday. A generous grant from The Wood-Claeyssens Foundation provided start-up financing for retrofitting and additional staffing needs, making this expansion of MRI services at SYVCH possible. Market analysis estimates approximately 1,000 patients per year will benefit from the extended services.

As the only location offering MRIs in the Santa Ynez Valley, increasing operation to five days per week will allow residents of the Valley to have additional medical services closer to home.
