Research Compliance Department

The Research Compliance Department is a component of the Office of Research and oversees:

•  Cottage Health System Institutional Review Board
    (CHS IRB)

•  Data Use Committee (DUC)

It is the starting point for all projects and/or requests for data.  The first step is to complete a Pre-Assessment Tool (PAT) available on the DUC web page [link] or by requesting one from Tamara Norton.

If you have an idea for a project (Quality Initiative, Evidence-Based Practice, Research), a new program, or want to start a database or data registry, complete a PAT and return it via e-mail to Tamara Norton or another member of the department.

Your PAT will be reviewed by the DUC. If you need additional help developing the idea, consider these resource opportunities:

•    “Thought Spot” – An information table to discuss project ideas is available every Wednesday between 2:00 – 3:00 in the SBCH cafeteria courtyard.
•    Research Advisory Committee (RAC) – Designed to discuss ideas and guide projects
•    For protocol development assistance and statistical considerations, contact Jonathan Grotts.
