Classes begins in Conference Room E / F, SBCH
Course Objectives:
- Review and simulate intubation sequence and/or assisting with intubation
- Demonstrate drawing up and administering resuscitation medication
- Practice and simulate various roles in newborn resuscitation
Course Instructions:
- Sign up for a two-hour simulation class via HealthStream (see above)
- Complete the online examination in HealthStream and bring the “Examination Verification” form to the class. (Written paper tests are no longer available).
- You will receive a “Welcome Letter” with more information and instructions about the online examination! Note: If you do not see “NRP Online Examination, 6th Edition” in your HealthStream “My Learning” please contact the Education Department or send email request to mflood@sbch.org.
- Borrow the “Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation, 6th Edition” w/CD from your unit. Other study materials are available on the employee portal at Education & Training/ Class Materials. You must be prepared for the simulation. If your unit is out of books you may obtain one from the Education Department with a deposit of $45. Your deposit will be returned to you when you return the book to the Education Department.

Course meets the qualifications for 6.0 hours of continuing education credit for MFCCs &/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Provider # PCE 741
Registration
CHS Employees: Register via HealthStream. No charge to CHS employees.
CHS Travelers: Register via HealthStream. Forward check for $30 payment to Education Department.
NON-CHS Employees:
- Complete registration form (download Registration form >>)
- Tuition is $30 without textbook and $80 with textbook.
- Registration is not complete until payment is received.
- Payment: Check for $30 (no text) or $80 (includes text) payable to CHS Education Department
