This course is designed to provide the licensed health care professional with an integrated understanding of cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management. The course requires significant home study and practice time on the part of the student and individual/group interaction during class time.
Course Objectives:
- Identify the parts of the cardiac conduction system and state their function
- Accurately measure PR, QRS, and QT intervals
- Demonstrate systematic evaluation of a rhythm strip
- Identify the various dysrhythmias and their clinical significanc
- Discuss possible treatment options based on clinical presentation and ECG pattern
- Illustrate proper electrode placement for a 5-wire system
