The content of the traditional 18 hour course has been streamlined and will be presented in a series of two 6 hour classes. You may attend any first session and any second session. Attendance at both sessions is required. All classes are on Tuesdays, and held at SBCH.

Course Objectives:
- Describe the advantages of breast feeding
- Discuss the public health impact and how this ties to AAP, WHO, and NIH guidelines
- Develop skills with patient communication and counseling
- Link evidence based practice and hospital policies that support breastfeeding
- Learn the mechanics of lactation management
- Identify and treat breastfeeding and latch problems
- Describe early and late onset breastfeeding problems
